So…. I’m nearly there.
I had tweeted that I wanted to unveil the portfolio today. But, I think I need tomorrow to polish off a few last minor details to get it ready for the public to see. But, for now, I’ve populated it with the initial projects I want people to see.
To recap, each portfolio piece will have its own URL on the site which gives the same information as on the home page but in its own singular template. There are also pagination links available for users to cycle through various posts of the associated Custom Post Type (CPT). However, I haven’t, at this point, made those links available as the links on the home page take you directly to the project rather than the single.php template.
But before all of this, I had to fix the database connection error. And I had indeed input the wrong details into config.php. That is the server hostname where the database username should have been. Simple things, but sometimes it is the simple things that are easily missed.
Accomplishments today:
- Completed the migration of the portfolio site from localhost to the Portfolio domain.
- Populated the portfolio with initial project examples
- Made updates to my sites to reflect the change from Projects to Portfolio.
- The projects subdomain will remain for most of my portfolio pieces to live and be linked to on my Portfolio site.
Tomorrow… the grand unveiling. 👀
