Blog: R7D22: #100DaysOfCode (More Posts)
I jumped in too early at upgrading everything. PHP and Python but especially PHP. I maintain that in the long run, I’ll be glad I did but it’s been causing me disruptions that’s going to cause me days if not hours to fix.
The local server version of my blog for example I’ve been able to import back and it reads the data but there are too many issues with permalinks not showing up in WordPress and JSON when attempting to write new posts. Part of it is CPT plugins not up to date with the latest installation of WordPress, for example, 7.2 when plugins have only been tested up to 7.0. So I jumped the gun a bit too early to even recreate the custom post types.
I devoted the next part of my day to creating a new app on Heroku for my work with a Flask project in Python. For now nothing more than an exercise in debugging and looking up error messages. I have created an app but with errors that need working out.
