So. There goes another day.
I’ve now completed the functionality for adding Author Archives, Date archives and search terms.
I put the latest work up on my repository. https://github.com/jg-digital-media/jgdm_wordpress_starter. There a more complete version control history of what I’ve done, but that is on my WordPress Repository which is locked out.
One thing I got hung up on was why the Author templates weren’t showing up properly and that was simply because I hadn’t set up WordPress pages for them properly. If you want Archive and Author Templates you want to link them to their templates in the WordPress admin area. After last night I managed to work that out fairly quickly which allowed me to move forward, get that done, get the SASS architecture a lot more customed to the configuration files so the colours and design can be easily customised.
The one thing I still can’t get my head around is why WordPress Pagination just won’t show up on non single post templates. That is my next priority for this project.
